For Bridger's 1st birthday (Monday) we decided to take him to the zoo! Scott has been DYING to take him since before he was even born. I wanted to wait until he was old enough to actually enjoy it a bit. I kind of won out on that deal. :)We had an awesome time seeing all of the animals and spoiling Bridger for his birthday! We are just getting to the point where Bridger makes some of the animal noises. His absolute favorite is the rooster. He says "Cock-a-DOOO" when we ask him what sound the rooster makes!

It was fun to spend the day with just the 3 of us. Scott got tired of me comparing the timeline of my labor/delivery to what we were doing. I kind of annoyed myself with it but I couldn't help but think about it! I'm just amazed at how quickly the past year has flown by.
After we were finished at the zoo we went to get Slurpees! Bridger has never had a Slurpee before but really liked it. A perfect birthday treat for our cute birthday boy! ;)
Then, on Tuesday, I took Bridger in for his 1 year check-up and shots! Ouch! My mom, who had the day off, came with us and recorded the administration of the shots on video. Every time I watch it I can't get over that sad little face. He was a trooper though. I have a feeling 'shots' are only going to get worse from here on out.
As far as growth is concerned--Bridger weighed pretty much the exact same as last time--22 lb 2.5 oz. which dropped him to the 40th percentile. {I swear I've been feeding him!} He grew to 30 1/2 inches tall which makes him in the 73rd percentile and his head size is in the 68th percentile. Basically we have a very healthy boy on our hands.
Our pediatrician was also very impressed with Bridger's vocabulary. He now says over a dozen words and also signs multiple words. Of course he was showing off to her while we were there. He even gave her a hug! We love Dr. Cox!
As of late, Bridger also thinks he is absolutely hilarious. He will do something and then just crack up. On the way to the doctor's office my mom & I were laughing about something and all of the sudden he just joined right in laughing with us. Oh, that boy. He makes me smile.
We had Bridger's 'official' birthday party last night so Aunt Ashley, Ava & Hailey could attend! More on that to come! ;)

Happy Birthday Bridger! I love keeping up with you and your cute family through your blog! It's fun to see what I have to look forward to with my little one. I can't believe that he is 1 year old already! Ryleigh is 8 months tomorrow. It's so crazy how much faster time flies when they are here to enjoy instead of kicking you in the ribs making you have to use the bathroom every other minute!
