For Father's Day this year I gave my Dad a coupon for a date on July 14th with just the two of us. That Thursday I went up to their house, made my parents dinner and then my Dad & I went off to play at Boondocks. Dad wasn't too excited about going to Boondocks at first but after he whooped me in 2 rounds of mini golf and then again at bowling I think he was enjoying himself thoroughly. We played some arcade games before we left and won enough tickets to redeem them for a Nerf football to give to Bridger. (Later in the night we ended up throwing the football across the living room for about 40 minutes while we talked.)Dad was totally obsessed with the basketball game and played it 5 or 6 times in a row. I played more of a variety. What can I say? I have a totally cool Dad. ;)
{My Mom took a picture of us after we got back to their house. My Dad insisted that the score card indicating that he was the ultimate winner be a part of the picture.}
After Boondocks I forced my Dad to go to Pace's for a rainbow. (YUM!) I can't believe that after 25 years of living in Kaysville he had still never had one...seriously...how is that even possible?!
I was grateful that my Mom so willingly watched Bridger while Scott was doing EQ stuff so that I could spend the night with my Dad. We rarely get one-on-one time together and that is something I've always looked forward to. Happy Father's Day, Dad! Even if your present was a few weeks late. ;)
