Last week we attended the Days of '47 Rodeo with my side of the family at the Maverick Center. We've had the opportunity to go every year for the past several years and usually get to sit on the second or third row thanks to my Mom's sweet hook-ups. ;) {She gets free tickets from work!}
Bridger seemed to have a better understanding of what was going on for this rodeo and was much more 'into' it. {Don't you love the picture of him squealing with delight below? ha.} It probably helped that the animals were 5 feet away from him and it was indoors--fewer distractions. We happened to be there for 'Tough Enough to Wear Pink' night which raised money for breast cancer awareness. Gramma & Grampa contributed to the cause by purchasing Bridger a pink bandana which he wore for most of the night.

{the calf roping event was obviously a real nail biter!}
Scott and I always love to watch the bull riding! It scares me to death to watch some of the situations those guys get themselves into. I definitely wouldn't want to be their wife/mother. We saw one injury in which I'm pretty sure the rider's leg was snapped in half after the back end of the bull fell on it. We never heard a final diagnosis only that the guy had the option of a re-ride....riiiigghht.
I'm a little bummed that we don't have any more rodeos on our summer calendar. I guess we'll just have to wait until next year!
