We lounged around trying to figure out a plan for the day and decided on fishing. We packed up some drinks, the dog, and our gear and started off. About 5 blocks away I realized I had forgotten to take my allergy medication. In an effort not to make the day miserable, we turned around and got it. Then we set off again. This time we got about 1 1/2 blocks away and Scott said, "Did we close the garage?" So, back we went. YES, we shut it. Off again! Our poor neighbor (Ryan) who was outside probably thought we were absolutely insane.
Because Scott accidentally broke my reel the last time we went, we had to make a pit stop to the sporting goods store to pick me up a replacement. While there I also got my fishing license. We made one final stop at Five Guys Burgers and Fries and then started up the mountain.
It was an absolutely gorgeous day and so fun to be out and about. I did start feeling a little nauseated on all the winding roads but I survived. We finally found a place to fish but it wasn't exactly what we were planning on. Scott ended up not being able to fly fish because the setting wasn't quite right which bummed me out. I just practiced with my new spin rod and didn't catch a darn thing...except for some algae and a few bushes. (Hey, it is a lot harder than I thought it would be to get used to new stuff...) Better luck next time, eh?
Aspen came along too and enjoyed the water for a bit. She absolutely LOVES to swim and knows how to do the dog paddle better than anyone I know. ;)
When we got home we cleaned up all of our gear, took a shower, made pizza for dinner and then curled up to the first season of 24 on DVD which my parents let us borrow. We watched for a few hours...despite our exhaustion...and hit the hay around 10. What a great day.
