Memorial Day Weekend-Part 1

Saturday was a BUSY day! Mom and I hosted a family bridal shower for our soon to be daughter-in-law/sister-in-law, Megon. It was held at my house which required a couple of days filled with cleaning, food preparation, and more cleaning.

Mom showed up to help me prepare and decorate at 11:30 and then the guests arrived at 1. We played a couple of games, Megon opened gifts, and then we enjoyed a small luncheon with several options for dessert.

We had previously decided that we wanted it to be an A-B-C shower and so when the invitations were disbursed, we gave each of the guests a wooden letter signifying what their gift should begin with. The house was decorated with letters, the cookies were shaped like letters, and one of the games that we played had to do with letters. I think it worked out well.

After the shower was over, Mom helped me clean up and then we planted ourselves on the couch for about an hour to relax. :) Scott and his dad, who had gone to a dog trial during our girly party, joined us around 4:30.

Scott and I then packed up our things and drove to Layton where we joined Mom, Dad, Patrick and Megon for dinner at our family favorite--Fiesta Guadalajara. MMMmmmm.... Dinner was followed by a movie at the Kaysville Theater. We saw "Knowing" which is perhaps the dumbest movie I have ever seen. Really, just don't waste your money...or time for that matter. Then, Mom and Dad let us crash at their house for the night.

...to be continued.
