After dinner was over we renacted the Christmas story. Carter played Joseph; Ella was Mary; Jack was baby Jesus; Tyler and Henry were shepherds; Marsha, Chelsea and Henry were wise men; Scott was the narrator; and I played photographer. Cole decided that he would rather hang out on the couch and watch everyone else. :)

Christmas Eve with the Davis Clan
I have been accused by one of my friends (Jenny) that I LOVE to be the hostess. While I don't think that this statement is entirely true, I do know that one thing I love is to be surrounded by family and friends. Since this Christmas is the 'Fought year', I decided that it would be nice to spend some time during the holiday season with Scott's side of the family. I presented Scott with my idea of having a little Christmas Eve dinner party at our house and I believe his reaction was, "Well, I think that sounds fun but are you sure you're up to it?" Side Note: There are a couple of things I've learned about Scott's family. 1) They love to eat, and they love to eat food that is amazing. 2) No one can possibly compare with Leslie (Scott's mom) when it comes to cooking. Although I may not be as good of a cook as Mom Davis, I did have a whole lot of help from others in the food preparation as well as the house preparation. Scott did an amazing job of helping me clean the entire house before the guests arrived. Chelsea did an awesome job preparing her first turkey ever! :) My mom helped me make homemade rolls the day before (even though she wasn't even coming to the dinner). Carter and Marsha brought the famous broccoli salad....yum. And I did stuffing, mashed potatoes, yogurt salad, and cheesecake.

When we were done with the Christmas story, we all went up to the Christmas tree and each of the kids got to open two gifts each from their Uncle Scott and Aunt Hydee. It was so much fun for us to be able to watch the kids open their gifts! Ella got two books, Cole got a baseball mit and a ball, Henry got a Lightening McQueen Lunchbox and some HotWheels, and Jack got a sweatsuit.

The only thing that we were missing that night were a few family members who live out of state! We sure wish that the Steinbachs, Houghton's and Nana and Papa could have joined us!
