Halloween 2011--Cock-a-doodle-doo!

Halloween is my favorite holiday--by far.  Scott says he thinks there is something really wrong with that.  I just love everything from the dressing up to the amazingly gross looking food. :)  What can I say?  I'm weird.  And--because I love it so much--we celebrate it all month long.  In fact, I'm pretty sure I busted out our Halloween pillowcases half-way through September.

This year, as in years past, Scott's parents had a Halloween party. Instead of being on Halloween night, however, we had it the week before.  The kids dress up and play all sorts of fun games that Nana puts together.  The parents attend to indulge in Nana's amazing cooking. :)  Bridger was old enough this year to participate in most of the games.  He whacked the piñata a few times, tossed the bean bags through the bat mouth and even won 'pin the smile on the skeleton' with a little help from Mom.  (Hey, his cousins were all cheating so he required my help to win!)  We finished the night with a movie--Monster House--which I think was just as entertaining for the adults as it was for the kids.  Of course, I didn't take my camera and therefore have no proof these events actually occurred.

Halloween day didn't go exactly how we had anticipated it would but it was certainly memorable.  I took Bridger reverse trick-or-treating to my mom's office while Scott worked for a couple of hours.  (Scott had taken the day off last minute but had to go in to get a few things done.)  After meeting back up with Scott we went to visit Nana & Papa (Scott's parents) so they could see Bridger.  We enjoyed chatting with them for a couple of hours and then we went up to my parents house where we had planned to spend Halloween night.  Scott ran to grab some pizzas for everyone and Patrick & Megon met up with us when they got off work.

After eating dinner, Scott and I took Bridger trick-or-treating to a few houses.  He loved it!  He wanted to carry his pumpkin bucket all by himself and, of course, didn't want Scott to hold him.  Every time someone gave him a piece of candy he said, "You're welcome".  Yeah, he's a little confused.  Everyone thought it was adorable, though--including us.  We just love our little rooster. :)

The night ended with pumpkin ice cream and the adults playing Pictionary--a family favorite. Bridger crashed in the crib at Gramma & Grampa's until we left.

And now Halloween is over.  I'm bummed.  Until next year....
