We arrived at the reception center a little after 4:00 to take pictures and set up before the reception started at 6:30. When we arrived there were dark clouds and a storm brewing and so Patrick and Megon decided to have all of us take pictures outside until it started raining. We started with groomsmen/bridesmaids pictures, Patrick's side, Megon's side, and then the newlyweds. Just as they were walking in from taking the last of their pictures, it down poured. (Can you even believe how cooperative the weather was for them?!)
We had the luxury of just hanging out until guests starting arriving and Patrick, Megon, Mom, Dad, & Megon's parents all had to stand in the receiving line. Scott and I stayed where all of the Farr's ice cream was being served and enjoyed some pistacio together. Of course, we each had to have our own. You all know how I don't share my ice cream. ;)
It was so fun to see family and friends that we hadn't seen in awhile! Having grown up in the same house my entire childhood and adolescence, I had the chance to get to know the people around me fairly well. I loved catching up with all my old neighbors and friends. It is crazy how much you begin to miss people when you never see them anymore.
Around 8:00 Patrick & Megon cut their cake and enjoyed their first dance together. They danced to "Feels Like Home" (the song from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days). After that, Patrick danced with Mom, and Megon danced with her dad. There was a switch halfway through where Megon danced with one of her brothers and I got to dance with Patrick. I was so glad to have the chance.
We all danced a few more songs before the limo came to pick up the newlyweds. We lined the walkway outside and held lit sparklers while the bride and groom ran down and out to their ride.
While they went off to the Anniversary Inn in Salt Lake, we stayed behind and helped with some of the clean-up. After all of the presents were loaded in the back of Dad's truck we follow him home and helped him unload. Scott and I then packed our stuff and arrived to our house around 10:30. It was a long but wonderful day for Patrick and Megon and I still can't believe that they are married!
