A Sister, Two Adorable Nephews, & the Shopping Queen

Yesterday I got a phone call from my sister in-law, Chelsea, inviting me to hit up Cabela's for the afternoon with her and the boys. Of course I can't resist getting out of my house and hanging with them so off I went!

We spent an hour or so (longer for them since I was of course, late) at Cabela's where we saw the animals, looked at the fish, and of course played some of the shooting games. Chelsea and I laughed at the irony of 'taking a break' by going to a sporting goods store considering we spend most of the time trying to escape when we are there with our hubbys. I must admit, it is a lot more fun when you know that you don't have to be there for 4 hours...minimum.

{lovin' his mac & cheese}

After Cabela's we went to Rumbi Island Grill for lunch where we enjoyed some good food and conversation.

{aunt hydee! take a picture of me with my eyes closed!}

{i just LOVED these two pictures...he is such a little model}

Thanks for the invitation, Chels. :)

On my way home from lunch I decided to go look for a black skirt. I walked into the store and after 45 minutes walked out of the store with a new pair of jeans, a short-sleeve sweater, a scarf, and a jacket. No black skirt. (Hi, my name is Hydee and I have an addiction to clothes.)

I really think that one of these days Scott may just start donating all of the clothes I never wear. The sad thing is, I don't wear a lot of the clothes I have. But, they are there...waiting for the perfect occasion.

{2 of the 3 racks designated 'mine' in our closet...pardon the mess}

At one point before we got married I counted how many pair of jeans I had...I'm somewhat embarrased to admit that, at the time, I owned 35 pair of jeans! Scott just could not wrap his mind around me needing so many pair of pants when he has...2. He could also not get over the fact that I would keep a store of 'new clothes' in my closet. I would buy things and instead of wearing them after I bought them, I would keep them in the closet...with the tags on...for probably months. And then, when I was having a bad day, going on a hot date, or just feeling in the mood for something new, I would wear one of the things I had purchased months before. I distinctly remember a few months after we got married taking the tag off of my last item of 'storage' clothing. Man, was that depressing.

Needless to say, I think I'm in desperate need of a closet clean-out...but for some reason I just can't bring myself to get rid of these clothes! HELP!...but don't help.

Wherever did you get this "fetish" you have for clothes. I'm lucky to have enough to wear to work! ...haha Of course, if I were losing weight like you are, Hydee, I'd have to go buy me some new clothes, too. Here's a thought ... GAIN SOME WEIGHT! Love the clothes, though.

i heart that last pict of henry. i'll bring my laptop over tonight and utilize your jump drive to snag that to print out for my office. i like it. a. lot.

i think your problem isn't so much with clothes as with black & white clothes. lol do you realize you were wearing b&w yesterday and all the clothes you bought were b&w?

as far as cleaning out clothes--pick me! pick me! i would love to help you. and i would love to cart all of your discards back to my house. seriously, i'm tired of even my favorite t-shirts. maybe we should just switch closests for a while?

i leave tags on for a while, too. mostly so i can wear it once and make sure it's going to work out.

and 35 pairs of jeans? that's pretty frickin' amazing, girlfriend. a year ago, i had one pair of jeans. count 'em. that's right. ONE. and when they got to their current deteriorating state [you saw them falling off of me yesterday], i bought a couple more. i'm up to 3 pairs, not counting the holey jeans. one of those pairs are skinny day, dressy jeans, another pair are for boots only cuz they're a little shorter than i like jeans, and the other pair gets worn all the time.
