The Many Faces of ASPEN

ASPEN

Just thought I'd post a few pictures of our dog, Aspen. She is so hilarious and never ceases to make us laugh hysterically at whatever she is doing.

Just a few things that Aspen regularly does:

1) Uses her paws as hands. This includes laying on her side while on her dog bed and pushing her toy back and forth between paws. Also included in this one is flipping her ear back the right way when it is flipped over and using her paws to scratch under her chin.She gets sad when we are on the couch and we make her sit alone.

2) Freaks out when the vacuum comes on! The other day Scott was getting the vacuum out and I said, "Has Aspen ever been right here when you are vacuuming?" Well, lets just say we got quite the show. As soon as we turned it on she took off running back and forth up and down the stairs the way she does when she gets excited.

3) Sits like a human. Tail tucked under and all four paws facing forward.

Not a very good picture...this is her transitioning from her "human sit" to her "normal dog" position. :)

4) Puts her head on your shoulder while driving. Scott will occasionally let Aspen out in the back of his car when the seats are down. She will often come and set her head on his shoulder just to "feel like she is in the driver's seat" as Scott put it.

5) Acts as a foot warmer. Whenever I'm cooking dinner or washing dishes Aspen loves to come and lay on my feet. Who needs socks when you have a 65 lb. chocolate lab?

We love when she tilts her head like this. In order to get her to do it for pictures we often have to make sounds of other dogs. She gets really confused and suddenly it tilts! :)

6) Retrieves like a pro! Scott has been working really hard with Aspen in training her to become a hunting dog. She does AWESOME and despite her stubborn nature sometimes, she listens pretty well and has a lot of fun.
