The rest of the day I had to work (meaning I had a staff meeting at 9 and worked until 7:30) and so pretty much the whole day was spent fake-laughing at the comments of clients who came through. One lady that comes in all of the time doesn't ever say Halloween but always calls it "Trick-or-Treat." I'm not sure where she got this from but she referenced Halloween several times in the conversation and always called it "Trick-or-Treat." When she left, she turned over her shoulder and shouted, "Happy Trick-or-Treat!" Can anyone tell me if this is a regional thing?
Everyone in my branch was asked to dress up and in an effort to come up with a 'really good' Halloween costume I thought to myself, "Well, I might as well wear my $500.00 prom dress more than once!" (Don't worry folks, I didn't pay that much for the dress. In fact, I didn't pay anything for it. Different story for a different day.) So it was decided that I would be a fairy godmother. Anyway, I got up early and decided to go 'all out' by crimping my hair. Yes, believe it or not I do still own a crimper thanks to my mom who crimped my hair daily from ages 2-5. :) I followed the hair crimping by slathering foundation (which I don't ever wear) gobs of eye make-up, glitter, blush and lipstick on. When Scott came in the bathroom his comment was, "Honey, I think you are wearing a little too much make-up." Thank goodness this was an intentional overdose.
Work went pretty well besides the fact that I had a 4 foot clearance area I had to deal with all day and a stinkin' heavy dress. No worries though, the flip-flops under the dress were probably the best decision I could have made that day.
My mom came by around 1 o'clock to see my costume, take some pictures (the picture posted is courtesy of her) and take me to lunch. What a great mom I have! After lunch we went and looked at cards...one of my favorite things to do...and then we both went back to work.
I was so excited to hand out candy at our house when I got home but was sorely disappointed with the fact that not only did we not have very many trick-or-treaters, but they were already dying off when I got there so I got to hand out a whopping 2 pieces. Oh well, there is always next year.
Scott and I decided to eat in so we ran and got Cafe Rio and chowed down while watching a 'scary' movie. I must admit, however, that I don't remember anything about this movie since I snoozed through the whole thing. We had a pretty fun day and it was nice to be able to spend the evening together.
I'm curious though, what did everyone else dress up as?

How fun!!! I'm impressed that you dressed up! Daniel and I were totally LAME and didn't dress up - we tried to find costumes...but never ended up getting one!
What a cute fairy godmother you made! Oh, how I wish you could make my wishes come true . . . oh, wait, one of these days you will! haha (Don't tell Scott I said that, there is really no rush!) It was so much fun to be together on "Trick or Treat," even if for just a few minutes. At our house, we just ate homemade chili and handed out goodies. Not much going on in Kaysville, either!
so your mom crimped your hair but that was a couple decades ago, darlin'. nice try on passing the guilt off to your mom, but 'twon't work. i did notice your hair was crimped on saturday.
next year you'll know to turn off your porch light and come hang out at the cool house for halloween.
I loved your costume Hydee! You look so pretty! Sounds like your Halloween was fun (even though you didn't get to hand out candy). :)
