Fly Fishing with the Peterson's

For months we have been planning a fishing trip with our friends Matt & Kelsey and we finally were able to get together last Saturday for an awesome day of fly fishing!  I have always just used our equipment (which is too big since it is all Scott's) but Matt (who guides) was able to get me some waders and boots that actually fit.  It was seriously heaven!  And should I mention the fact that I haven't been fly fishing in...uh...4 years?!  (Thank you, children.)  It was definitely a much needed and fun escape to nature.  And, we had a super successful day!  Between the 4 of us we probably hooked about 80 fish.  We netted about 50. It was also so much fun to spend the day with Matt and Kelsey who we don't get to see very often!

My parents were nice enough to let the boys have a sleepover and then watch them ALL DAY on Saturday.  It was seriously AMAZING to be out in the QUIET of nature. I was reminded of how many things you can think about when you don't have someone yelling 'Mom!' every 5 minutes!  It was a nice break and we were happy to return to our boys who, in all honesty, were terribly disappointed we were back.  Ha!  Grandparents are awesome!

Here are a few of the pictures we took that day...

Being up at 4 a.m. only has one perk...you get to see the sunrise.

My hottie husband. :)

Scott and his BEAUTIFUL fatty rainbow.
Lunch break!

These two are awesome!  Can't wait for their wedding next June!
One of THE BEST parts of our day was riding through puddles with Kelsey who was SCREAMING with excitement.  I cannot remember the last time we laughed that hard.  My abs still hurt 2 day later. ;)
Toward the end of the day the hat came on and the layers came off.  It was beautiful!
