Activity Advent

This year Scott and I decided we would start a new tradition of doing something each day during the month of December as a family to prepare us for Christmas and to give a little more meaning to the Christmas season.  I tried to take pictures of each activity we did on my phone (they aren't the best quality but it was certainly more convenient).  Here are a few of the activities we did:

-Read Christmas Stories together

-Watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas

-Go see the Hogle Zoo Lights

-Write letters to Santa

-Go Christmas shopping together

-Go visit Santa Claus

-Pick out a Christmas tree

-Decorate our Christmas tree

-Go visit the Elves at Gardner Village

-Make and hang snowflakes

-Attend a Christmas Concert

-Learn and sing a new Christmas song
-Wrap presents together

-Make cookies

-Decorate Christmas cookies

-Build a snowman

B's first snowman!--Oreos for eyes, celery for a nose & candied almonds for a mouth

-Make/drink hot chocolate

-Visit temple square

-Take pictures in front of the Christmas tree
-Send Christmas cards

-Visit family
-Attend a Christmas party
-Go sledding (did it after Christmas--see previous post)

We missed a few things we intended to do due to our new crazy schedule but I was glad we were able to accomplish what we did.   This tradition is definitely a keeper for our family!
