As I previously mentioned in a post, Scott turned 30 on April 3rd. I knew I wanted to have some type of a surprise party for Scott but wasn't really sure what we would do. After a lot of thinking, I decided on getting about 30 of our family and friends together to go to Boondocks Fun Center for the afternoon. (Yes, my 30 year old husband would prefer to play laser tag and video games over having a more 'adult' party.) Because I was so sick during the planning process, I tried to make things pretty simple and thankfully my parents (who we ended up telling about the pregnancy before the party) were able to help me with some of the last minute errands.

Scott's brother Tyler was in charge of getting Scott to Boondocks. I really had no idea how he would pull it off but he wove a perfect web of lies about puppies and breeders that worked out perfectly. :) I think Tyler almost had a heart attack trying to keep all of the details straight, but I really don't think anyone could have had Scott more convinced. Thanks, Ty!
Timing wise, it worked out for us to have the party about a week and a half before Scott's actual birthday. As a result, he really wasn't thinking in terms of his 'birthday' and was very confused when he walked in to find all of us yelling "Surprise!" I took a video on my phone of his entrance because in my effort to remember EVERYTHING I, of course, forgot my camera. Boo. I took a few pictures on my phone of the rest of the party, but most of the time we were too busy playing laser tag, bowling and hanging out with all of our awesome guests.
Scott assured me that he had a great time and that is really all I was hoping for. I am always the one getting spoiled so it was nice to do something a little 'bigger' for Scott to help him realize how much he means to his family and friends. Oh and by the way, I still can't believe I'm married to someone in their 30's. An oldie but a goodie. ;)
