18 Months

Last week Bridger hit the 18 month mark!  {Nursery age, folks!}  I took him to the doctor yesterday and here are his stats...

Height--33 1/2 inches (75th percentile)
Weight--26 lb. ? oz. (58th percentile)
Head Size--75th percentile

B also had his last vaccination (until he goes to Kindergarten!)  He did great.  Cried for about 10 seconds until his favorite medical assistant, Kristy, could get the wrapper off of his sucker.

A little bit about Bridger these days...

-He talks like crazy.  I can't believe how many words he says.  Yesterday the Dr. said about 5 times during our appointment, "Wow, he talks a lot" or "He is just a little parrot isn't he?"  or my favorite, "No but really, he talks A LOT."  Yes, he must be his mother's son. ;)  He will try to say pretty much anything he hears and spends most of the day repeating to me whatever it is I just said.  He also seems to be in a phase where he has to identify everything he knows.  As we drive down the road he'll shout, 'Car! Truck! Light! Store!  Seat! (carseat) Shoes!  Sippy!  Eat!  Snack!  Drink!  Milk!  Clouds!  Birds!  Church!' (withing about 30 seconds...car rides are sometimes....loud.

-Bridger knows how to count to ten (usually does it while putting his toys in his bucket), sings the ABC song--can't sing it all alone quite yet but will fill in letters when you stop singing, the entire 'Itsy Bitsy Spider' song with actions, 'Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam' with actions, and the first 2 lines of 'I Am a Child of God'.  We're figuring out that Bridger really responds to language and music.

-Bridger knows the names to all of the colors but doesn't know which color is which.  He'll hold something up and say, 'Red?' Nope.  'Blue?' Nope. "Geeen?" Nope.  "Ay-yo?"(Yellow) Yep, that's the one!  ;)

-Bridger is a friendly kid.  He says 'hello' to almost everyone we pass in the store.  If they ignore him, he just gets louder and louder until they respond.  {Sometimes making for an awkward situation for Mom}

- Bridger is my little sleeping champ.  We put him down at 7:30 or 8 every night and he wakes up between 8:30 and 9:30 (usually closer to 9:30).   When he wakes up he is happy as can be and just likes playing in his crib for a half hour or so until he starts yelling, "Moooommmmm!  Eaaatttt!"  He is down to one nap each day and usually sleeps from about 1-3:30.

-Bridger is an Apple guru.  :)  He takes my iPhone and looks at pictures and videos.  He knows how to turn on music and find 'Talking Tom'.  The other day he even used Siri to call 'Graaammmpppaaa' (Which I seriously don't know how he did because he is in my phone under 'Dad').  Oh, and he called my mom's office phone last night around 6:30.  When I asked him what he was doing he shouted 'Graaammmmaaaa!'

-Bridger has started getting into trouble and throwing tantrums.  He will often throw a tantrum or do something he shouldn't and then walk himself over to 'time-out' without being asked.  This morning he ruined one of his books by sticking it in the dog's water bowl and then dumping the bowl out on top of the book.  He will also frequently do things he shouldn't (like throw his sippy cup on the ground while eating) and say in a very sincere voice, "Oh nooooo."

-Bridger loves animals and reading books about animals.  Last night we read 3 books, 4 times each. He could have done it all night if I wasn't determined to get him into bed.  I think his favorite animal is a lion.  He always wants to read 'the lion book' and constantly says, "LION!  RAAAAWWWRRR!"

-Bridger LOVES our dog, Aspen.  Every morning after I change his diaper he sets out to find her.  When he sees her he yells 'PUPPY!' or 'AFFFEEEEN!' (Aspen)  He also loves to take her out to go to the bathroom.  Whenever she goes to stand by the door (indicating she needs to go) he is the first one to the door yelling 'POTTY!'  She puts up with him riding her like a horse while yelling 'horsey!' and constantly giving her hugs.  He pays her back by dropping half of his lunch for her to eat every day while I'm not looking.

-Bridger is a good eater.  He will usually eat whatever we are having.  His favorites are: 'O'meal' (oatmeal), 'nanas' (bananas), 'toy-st' (toast), 'O's' (Cheerios), 'noodles' (with tomato sauce), 'chickens!' (cut up pieces of chicken breast), 'ap-al-sass' (applesauce), 'dy-a' (quesadilla), yogurt, blueberries, & soup.  Favorite snacks:  'nacks!' (fruit snacks), 'fish' (goldfish crackers), 'coo-kie?' (animal crackers, ritz crackers, club crackers, or actual cookies), & 'toes' (cherry tomatoes).

-Bridger thinks Scott's job is to go hunting.  He'll hold out his arms and say, "Daddy?  Go?"  When I tell him he is at work he'll say, "Hunting?"

-Every time I put on earrings he'll point to them and say, "Pretty!  Pretty!" He also goes to my clothes in the closet and says "Pretty"...but doesn't do that on Scott's side.  Smarty pants.

-Bridger loves when Scott comes home!  As soon as he hears the garage he will start yelling 'Daddy!  Daddy!' and runs to the door.  He also asks ALL DAY LONG where Daddy is.

-B's most recent discovery is the movie 'Toy Story'.  He certainly won't sit for the entire thing but loves identifying 'Buzz' every time he comes on the screen.

As you can tell, we sure love this little man!  Happy 1.5 Birthday, B!
