Our visit with Kaye was entertaining as usual. I'm amazed at how keen her memory is and at her sense of humor. She told us that the Relief Society started bringing in 2 meals a week a couple of years ago when she was having heart problems and that recently she called up and 'fired' them by telling them, "I guess I'm never gonna die so you shouldn't have to make me meals anymore." She followed that story by telling us, "It's hard work dying!"
The best part of our visit was listening to how much Aunt Kaye looks forward to the letters she receives from Scott's mom. You can tell that there is definitely a special place in her heart for Mom by the way she talks about her and how she speaks of Grandma Nana (Scott's maternal grandmother).
As we drove away, Scott and I were talking about how blessed we feel to have a family that is so close. We definitely feel like we hit the jackpot when it comes to the ones we love most. :)
