Bowling Party

Last Friday my mom and dad hosted the "Fought Family Bowling Tournament" up at their house. Mom had taken the day off and so we spent the day shopping, cooking and hanging out while dad mowed the lawn and played with the dogs. Scott, Patrick, and Megon arrived shortly after they got off work and we started off the evening by eating dinner together. The whole event was centered around the bowling tournament with "Strike" cups and napkins and plates shaped like bowling shirts.

After dinner was cleared, we went downstairs and started our Wii bowling tournament. Mom and Dad came down sporting their matching shirts (pictured below) and displayed the trophies that the winning team would receive.

We began with a practice round and then were off. The boys played the first game, girls the second, couples the third and then 'choice' for the last game. The winner was determined by adding each couples game scores together.

Now, for those of you who aren't aware...I'm pretty much the best Wii bowler ever known to the game. I have kicked the trash of every person playing in this tournment and yet...that night, I was a-w-f-u-l. EVERYONE including sweet Scott who always struggles through the game was doing significantly better than myself. Being the competitive soul that I am, I ended up getting frustrated and letting Scott bowl our entire last game so I wouldn't get even more irritated. (I thought I had it in the bag!)

Anyway, Patrick and Megon ended up taking the trophies even though I voiced that "Megon shouldn't be allowed to get the trophy until June 10th because she is not a Fought yet!" (Once again, the competitive side coming out...) My mom shut me down by reminding me that I'm not a Fought either...dang, good point.

Once I calmed down from the frustrations of the tourney, we all went upstairs and colored eggs for Easter. In our family, we do two things. First, we have a contest of who can be the most creative and second, we each make an egg for each family member. As usual, dad had some fantastic eggs. He takes about 30 minutes per egg so they are little masterpieces that you really feel guilty cracking open. :) Megon won 'Best Egg' this year with her American flag pattern...way to go! Mom and Patrick did the exact same color pattern on an egg...we have yet to determine who was copying whom. Scott taught everyone about the shrink wraps and my eggs weren't as good as they have been in the past.

Thanks to Mom and Dad for having us all over and letting us crash at their place for the night. As for Patrick and Megon...you're going down.

Nice job with the photos, Hyd! I think I'll just put a "go to Hydee's site" on my blog, since you have done such a wonderful job laying it all out! Just wish the outcome would have been better in the rewrite! LOL! Glad you all came and had fun!
