We had such a fun birthday this year! (That's right, we have the same birthday.) Our main objective was to spend the entire day together and do whatever we wanted. So, that is exactly what we did! We woke up at about 8:30 to a call from the Terminix guy who was on his way to our house. After he left we got ready for the day and then gave each other a few birthday presents.
My dad called at 11:02 (the time I was born) to wish us both a happy birthday. Patrick was also nice enough to volunteer to take us to lunch. We decided to make it a family affair and invite mom and dad too. Scott and I drove downtown where we met everyone at Crown Burger for a quick lunch. It was fun to see Mom, Dad and Patrick on our birthday and we had a nice time chatting with them. (Thanks to Mom and Dad for picking up the tab!)
After lunch we went over to Gateway to do 'a little' shopping and after a minor delay in the parking garage, we spent the next several hours looking around. At one point we realized that neither of us at cash on hand to pay for parking (or our checkbook) and so we decided we better buy something so we could get validation. We looked around for something inexpensive and nothing seemed worth the money. At this point, we were in our third hour which means we needed 2 validations. I was getting tired of walking around and in search of an ATM. Meanwhile, Scott's blood sugar was getting low and so we went to the food court to buy him a drink. We got the drink...phew. McDonalds doesn't validate so our quest continued. We decided to go into Claires since they usually have really cheap stuff and I knew I would be able to get a pair of earrings or something there for pretty cheap. Found a necklace I liked, bought it, learned that they don't validate.

Continuing on.... We went into Aeropostale and bought me a couple of undershirts. Before buying we ASKED if they validate...YES! So, we asked if we could have two since we were buying 2 shirts. Answer: No. Arggghhhh...after a drawn out explanation about why they couldn't give us two, the guy ended up being nice and handing us a second one. Sweet.
Next we were off to the nursery to get our grass checked out. Turns out we have grubs. We got the stuff to solve the problem and I'm sure the grass will be green in no time. :)
Costco was our next stop. We picked up a few things and then cut out in record time (we are usually there for at least 2 hours). After stopping by to get Scott's dry cleaning we were finally on our way home!
Once home we scrambled to put away groceries, take care of Aspen, open more presents, and get dressed for our night on the town.We had dinner at The Five Alls in Salt Lake City and the food was delicious! (Family history side note: this is the restaurant where Scott's dad proposed to his mom.) I really don't think I've ever eaten so much in my life. We both ordered the Fillet Mignon (prepared different ways) and enjoyed each of the other 4 courses.

On the way home, we rented a Redbox (Marley and Me) and stopped by to see Scott's parents.
Thanks to everyone who expressed their birthday wishes to us! We had such a wonderful day!
