Everything went as he had anticipated except for the fact that he could not bring himself to eat very much at their dinner due to a case of nerves. What? Is there something nerve wracking about asking someone to be with you forever and ever and EVER?! haha.
The Story: Last Saturday (March 7th) Patrick decided to take Megon out for their '3 month dating anniversary' to The Roof restaurant in downtown Salt Lake. For those who aren't familiar, this restaurant overlooks the Salt Lake Temple (which is where they will be getting married). After dinner was over, Patrick asked one of the people in the restaurant to take a picture of him and Megon with the beautiful backdrop. Little did Megon know that Patrick had set his camera to video mode and just as they were going to take the picture, he knelt down and popped the question. Although I haven't been priviledged enough to obtain rights to the video yet, I'll work on Patrick and see if I can't post it. :)
After dinner was over Megon and Patrick went back to the parking garage where his car was parked and Megon found a single red rose and a card from Patrick on her seat. (Scott and I had snuck down there while they were at dinner and set it up.) Of course we wanted to wait around to take some pictures and our flash gave us away from the opposite side of the garage. After getting a good look at the ring, watching the video and having them both share what went down, we went out to take a few pictures on Temple Square. Being the dweeb that I am, I forgot to charge the battery on my camera so we only got a few pictures before it died. Darn.
The soon to be bride and groom have chosen to be married on June 10th.
We are so happy for Patrick and Megon! We look forward to getting to know Megon better and can't wait for the days when they can say goodnight around 10:00 like the rest of us married folk. :)

So fun! I could tell Patrick was nervous on Saturday, but dad and I weren't home all day. I feel bad about not being there for him that day, but probably would have just been in the way! We are so happy for Patrick and Megon. June 10 will come sooner than we think!
