Happy 30th Birthday, Scott!!

Today we are celebrating 30 years of Scott!  I could spend hours writing and revising an attempt to articulate just how much he means to me and how grateful I am for his many wonderful and humbling qualities--each of which make our marriage and home a little more like 'heaven'.  But, today, instead of attempting an impossible task, I will instead resort to posting a few pictures of my dashing husband through the years and share just a few things about Scott that make the top of my 'I love Scott because..."list.

1.  Scott is a man of integrity.  He tries daily to live worthy of that reputation and serves as a gentle reminder to me to live my life the same way.

2.  Scott is an incredibly hard worker.  He throws himself into whatever task he is assigned and is praised regularly as one of the most dedicated and hard-working employees in his department.  His parents have shown him (by example) just how important it is to strive for the best in everything you do.

3.  Despite Scott being completely dedicated to his work, he is a man of priority.  He will take time from his day if I need a listening ear or if Bridger wants to call mid-day to tell him about seeing the 'train'!  Though he may be overwhelmed with tasks, it is never a question that he values our family more than anything else.

4.  Scott is charismatic.  He doesn't think he is--but he totally is.  He is comfortable in his own skin.

5.  Scott is a deeply spiritual man.   He leads our family and helps us to {again} prioritize what is most important.  He has a tender heart and works hard to fulfill his responsibility to serve others.

6.  Scott may complain to me about some things--but he rarely complains about his health.  The more I am around people who are on very restrictive diets, the more I realize what a true strength this is.  He has never once made me feel guilty for indulging in cookies and cakes in front of him.  {Which I probably should feel very guilty about.}  I also never hear him complain about having to poke his finger multiple times a day and having to wear an insulin pump or manage his diabetes.  He just does it--and he does it with a positive outlook.

7.  Scott is an amazing husband.  He is very selfless and always looking for ways to make me happy.  He is always the one to say 'sorry' and rarely the one who needs to be saying it.  I am grateful for his...

8....PATIENCE.  Scott is a very patient husband and father.

9.   Scott is a man who values education and is very well rounded.  He enjoys reading and keeping up with current events daily. He is always researching something--whether it be a new dog-training style, camera equipment {for me!}, all things Apple, the list goes on and on.  He can rattle off sports stats with the best of them and in the same breath have an educated conversation about the latest art exhibit.  He is balanced.

10.  Perhaps my top reason for loving Scott is for the father he is to Bridger.  He wrestles with him, plays with him, takes him on 'boy outings', changes diapers, sings to him and snuggles with him.  Scott is happiest when watching Bridger learn new things.  Bridger is certainly lucky to have a dad who so desperately wants him to succeed and is willing to help him do so.

Well, I feel as if I've barely scratched the surface.  I feel so blessed to have Scott in my life and wish him the very happiest of birthdays!
