The last weekend in August we decided to go on a little camping getaway with my brother and his wife. Patrick had previously arranged a campsite at Granite Flats Campground--up A.F. Canyon--for the 5 of us. We left right after Scott got off work on Friday night and after a few stops we finally got to the campground in time to set up our tent in the dark. ;)
Bridger had never been camping before and was excited to see so many new things. We were surprised that he slept so well in a tent--going to bed at his normal time and not waking up until the sun came up around 6:00. Saturday morning when he woke up bright and early Scott and I weren't quite ready to wake up for the day. We brought him on the air mattress with us and he fell asleep with his head on Scott's stomach and his backside on mine for another hour or so. That kid can sleep anywhere!
On Saturday we spent most of the day fishing and playing card games. My mom and dad came up to spend the day with us and we enjoyed having them there to hang out. After a fajita dinner with watermelon & a yummy dutch oven peach cobbler (gluten-free!) for dessert, we went down to the reservoir for a little more fishin' time. Bridger was able to catch his first fish (which probably had something to do with the goofy dance that he and Gramma were doing at the time).

After everyone but me had caught a fish (figures!), we came back to camp to put Bridger to bed, roast marshmallows & eat s'mores. Yum!
About 11:30 Saturday night it started pouring rain. Scott and I made it into the tent just in time. Lightening was hitting fairly close to us and the booms of thunder were causing the whole tent to shake. Scott and I were worried that Bridger would wake up terrified but the boy slept through the entire storm without a peep. Again, we couldn't believe it. Looks like we have a nature lover on our hands. :)
