Girls Camp

The 2nd week in August I attended our ward's Girls Camp for the 3rd year in a row . Unlike last year, however, I went without the title of Girls Camp Director and a 2 week old baby which made my life a whole lot easier and resulted in me having a much more relaxing time in the great outdoors. I even got some pleasure reading and a pedicure in. :)

Every year our stake goes to the same place--Brighton Meadows Campground--which is just about 35-40 minutes past Park City. They have a 'lake', rocky tent pads and a good size amphitheater. Perfect for a stake camp, I suppose. But then again, I've always been a bigger fan of ward camps--which our stake doesn't do. Oh well--the girls love it.

Our theme this year was "I believe..." with the hope being that the girls would each gain their own testimony. Since the mutual theme for this year is the 13th Article of Faith, we've talked a lot about what 'We Believe' but this gave the girls a chance to think about what they believe. The Stake YW leaders brought around a video camera and recorded each of the girls saying one thing that they believe. I thought that was such a clever idea and I am looking forward to seeing what each of my YW believe.

As usual it felt great to go home and take a shower at the end of the week. It felt even better to hold my little Bridger man who had been having a blast with Gramma & Grampa while I was gone.

As I side note: I was also able to break Bridger of his sour cream and onion potato chip addiction that Grampa so lovingly started during those few days. Oh, those grandparents! :)
