Thanks to it being General Conference weekend, Scott & I celebrated our birthday all weekend long with my side of the family. The party began on Friday night at Red Robin where we enjoyed burgers and bottomless fries followed by the opening of gifts & cards.

Since Friday also happened to be April Fools Day, we thought we would play a little prank on my dear ole Dad. Scott and I handed him an envelope with this inside...

And this is the reaction we got...

That little joke {yes, it is definitely a joke} lasted for a few minutes and then I finally broke down and told him it was all a joke. {I should have taken a follow-up picture of the relief. ha!} What was most concerning was when Scott said, "Pretty soon that won't be a joke." Uh, what? I just had a baby!
On Saturday, Scott and I watched General Conference from home in our pjs while the rest of the family attended down at the Conference Center. Following the second session, I picked up Mom & Megon for girl's night and Scott met up with his brother so they could meet down at the Conference Center for the Priesthood session.
Mom, Megon, Bridger & I all went shopping and then out to dinner. When we got back to my parents house, I made a birthday cake for Scott & I and then Megon was nice enough to trim my hair for me. {It is so nice to have a sister-in-law who will do this for me on her day off!}
The boys came home shortly after Bridger finally went to bed and we stayed up playing Just Dance 2 & Mario Kart. {For those of you who dont't know, I'm in love with Just Dance and I am looking for anyone and everyone who is willing to play it with me.} Everyone stayed up to watch a movie but I chose instead to sleep--knowing full well that my son would be up in only a few short hours ready to start the day.
Sunday morning Dad made all of us breakfast and then we watched the Sunday morning session of Conference. During the break I actually made the effort to shower for the day. ;) Mom & Dad made dinner during the afternoon session (Steak, potatoes, veggies & fruit) which we thoroughly enjoyed. After a few more rounds of Just Dance we decided to cut into our birthday cake {but not before we were serenaded and blew out our cake that was glowing with 52 candles}. :) Most of those were Scott's, by the way...

Bridger was fascinated by all of this birthday business but what really excited him was when he sat in Gr. & Gr. laundry basket and played with Grampa. ;) What can I say? It is definitely the little things...

Thanks again to everyone who called, text, e-mailed, sent cards, etc. We are so lucky to have friends and family who are so thoughtful in remembering our special day!
