2 Months Old, A Name & A Blessing

Bridger hit the two month mark on Saturday! It is hard to believe he is already that 'old' and yet, it seems like he's always been here...okay, maybe not always. I still remember life before baby...you know, when I actually slept for 8-9 hours every night. Ah, that was great. But, who can complain about lack of sleep when you get to wake up to this smiling face every morning? I mean...really.

At his Dr. appointment today his stats were--
Weight-9lb. 8.5 oz. (6th percentile)
Height-22.5 inches (28th percentile)
Head-15.5 inches (31st percentile)

We also determined that he has a mild case of acid reflux disease and that shots stink. Poor guy had 3 today and has not been the same since. I know that 'this too shall pass' but it breaks my heart to see him so sad and confused as to why he doesn't feel good. Taking the band-aid off his leg during his bath tonight was almost as bad as getting another one. Whoever came up with that phrase 'Quick & painless--just like ripping a band-aid off !' anyway?

Sunday was an extra special day for us because Bridger was given his name and a blessing from his daddy. We were very grateful to have everything turn out so well and to be surrounded by many family and friends. There were a few key players missing (Nana & Papa, Dave & Megan Family, & Ashley & Cinco Family) but we know that they would have been here if they could. :)

Scott did a beautiful job on the blessing and surprised all of us when he said that Bridger would be an example to his brothers and sisters....What? We're having more of these? ! My mom was able to write out the blessing for us so that we have a copy of what was said. We are grateful to have that for his baby book and also to be able to send it to Nana & Papa in France.

Leading up to the blessing I had 2 fears....1) Bridger would spit up (or worse) all over the Belgian gown Nana & Papa bought for the grandsons to be blessed in and 2) He would cry throughout the entire blessing. I was very relieved when neither of these nightmares became reality. :)

{my college roommates! They all came with their husbands...except Brielle who left her boyfriend at home. :)}

Following our Sacrament Meeting we had everyone over to our place for a light brunch. My mom had helped me to prepare most of the food the day before which turned out to be a blessing and a HUGE help. (Thanks, Mom!) Our guests included Scott's brothers and their families, my brother & his wife, my parents, 2 sets of Bridger's great-grandparents, various friends, & Scott's mission companion/former roommate. We served homemade cinnamon rolls, mini bagels, a variety of fruits, juice & breakfast casserole. All in all I think everything turned out pretty well. Bridger slept through his entire party even with all of the passing around. :)

{I got bored last week and made B this tie onesie...he looks like a mini missionary. ha!}
