Christmas & New Year's

Once again I've fallen behind on updating our blog but I thought I better share a few pictures from Christmas and New Year's.

We started the morning off at our house where Santa brought us all some very nice presents.

Aspen was excited to get a new duck for training, her hypoallergenic dog treats, and a Christmas book about dogs. Her favorite present, however, was from Tyler, Chelsea and kiddos who gave her a new toy. All morning long she flung that little gingerbread man around. Ah...sheer entertainment for both her and us.

Scott, as you can see, must have been very good seeing as Santa brought him this whole pile of presents! Inside the wrapping he found items like...a new belt, new socks, Guitar Hero World Tour, new binoculars, two pair of dress shoes, DVDs, new ties, and more.

I was also given way too many presents this year. Santa brought me things like a new iPod, Nikon camera, blow dryer, book, reflector (for photography), DVDs, and a new purse.

After opening all of the presents that Santa brought Scott made a lovely breakfast and then we went up to Kaysville to spend Christmas with my family. Patrick and Megon arrived shortly after us and we all went down together to open presents.

{Mom had all of the presents wrapped up with these fancy red bows.}

Grandma and Grandpa joined us while we were opening presents and stayed for a wonderful dinner that mom and dad had prepared. We very much enjoyed celebrating the season together and, of course, playing games. Scott and I ended up sleeping over the night of Christmas (along with Patrick and Megon) and we were able to play Monopoly, Guitar Hero, the Newlywed Game, and Mom's new Scrabble card game. We learned a little more than we wanted to about everyone else, but it was all around fun.

New Year's Eve we spent hanging out with Tyler, Chelsea and crew. Scott helped Tyler move their new bed into place and it looks stinkin' awesome. (Tyler made it.) Afterwards we enjoyed some fondue, talking and playing Guitar Hero together.

New Year's Day we decided to go up to Hardware Ranch together to see all of the elk which come to feed. We made the trek up to Cache Valley just in time for the snow to start falling. It was fun to watch Henry as we rode the sled close to the animals. I snapped a few pictures while we were there but due to weather conditions they didn't turn out quite how I would have liked. Oh, well. I still got a few. We were happy to make it safely home.

That night Scott and I decided we wanted to go and see The Blind Side since we have been meaning to for weeks. After talking to Mom and Dad and hearing all of the problems they had in trying to go and see it earlier in the day (sold out at one theater, projector broken at another) we decided to invite them to come along. We were happy when they accepted the offer and came down to the late show with us. It was a fantastic movie that I would highly recommend to anyone.

Well, there is the grand update. I start my new job tomorrow so who knows when the next post will be...we will probably have to do something exciting before that happens. :)

haha My favorite thing about this post is that you have the VHS Fireplace video playing in the background. That video is amazing!!! haha oh man, and I think I was at the movies when your parents were when they tried to see blindside. I was a little annoyed, but at least we got free passes, which made that awesome movie even better. Glad you had a good christmas, good luck with the new job!!
