Thoughts.

Fridays are the most wonderful day of the week...I generally get off work a little after 3 (despite having to be there at the butt crack of dawn), the weekend begins, and I always get a date night with the hubs. Last Friday was no exception to these things. And additionally,to our good fortune, Scott's boss encouraged him to slip out early so he arrived home a couple of hours before I generally expect him. Ah, love those days.

It was strange seeing Scott in daylight. Granted, we do have weekends where we see each other, but those days are spent running errands, working in the yard, grocery shopping, and doing a slew of other things on our list of neverending tasks. It seems to work that all of the quality time we spend together is in the evening when things have settled, nothing else is going on and we can pop in a movie, snuggle up on the couch and dip pretzels twists in melted chocolate chips.

{why is it that every time i look at this picture the butterflies find me again?}

I was surprized that when he walked through the door that afternoon I suddenly felt like a rebellious teenager skipping school to hang out with the hot guy from Honors Chem. I had butterflies. Not butterflies of nervousness, but of excitment and anticipation for what would happen next. We both found freedom! Freedom from work, freedom from doing the monotonous tasks of our daily routines and free to do whatever we darn well pleased. So, we embraced the moment and on a whim decided to go wandering around the shops at Gardner Village. It was amazing what happened in an hour and a half. We walked, we held hands, we discussed important and trivial topics, we laughed, we felt, we tasted Fall, and we planned. It was refreshing, it was rejuvenating, and it was one of those fleeting moments of pure happiness that I hope to never forget.
