Diabetes Expo

Yesterday Scott and I got up bright and early to volunteer at the Diabetes Exposition which was held at the Southtowne Expo Center. Of course they put us in charge of all of the important jobs like handing out t-shirts to other volunteers, being the assistants of the guy in charge of the information booth AND being the bouncers to the volunteer lunch. :)


Oh, and we also had the amazing opportunity to listen to a LIVE band. I mean, come one...who wouldn't want to listen to the band who has "...the number one song on internet radio for like...3 months." The lead singer even offered us one of his picks.


Regardless of the humor we found in all the little things, the expo turned out to be a really good experience. I am always up for learning more about diabetes and ways I can help Scott. I was SHOCKED at the attention that it received with an estimated 4,000 people in attendance. It is exciting to see that people are making an effort to take care of themselves and taking advantage of the free screenings that were offered.
