Tara is a unique soul. I've never met anyone who can consistently drink a gallon of milk per day (okay so maybe it just seems like it), eat cereal for every meal, run faster than lightening, turn EVERY male head, play the piano & sing like an angel, be a fantastic student (despite going on 7 dates a week, running track, and hanging out with friends) and maintain a strong testimony of the gospel while living exactly what she believes.
Tara and I first met in Jr. High. In 7th and 8th grade I (along with everyone else) knew Tara because she was one of the most popular girls in school. She had lots of friends and every boy I knew liked her, Liz (another one of our friends), or both of them at the same time. :) I first became really good friends with Liz. We were on yearbook staff together (haha, this should be a post by itself) and it just went from there. Our 9th grade year, all of us had an honors English class together. My first one-on-one experience with Tara was her walking in and telling me, "Oh my gosh! Your hair is so big!" And believe it or not, we were still friends after that! :) I went home crying that day because the most popular girl in the school called my hair big and of course 'big' isn't exactly "I love your hair!" Things progressed from there.
I spent a lot more time with Liz which translated into spending more time with Tara as well. When we entered high school, our group of friends merged with another group who had attended Kaysville Jr. High. This happened naturally because Tara's cousin (Michael) was a part of the 'Kaysville group'. What resulted was about 6 girls and 10 guys who did pretty much everything together throughout high school. The first two years of high school I did not spend as much time with Tara because she was dating someone older and spent a lot of time with his friends and her sister, Chelsie. I remember the day that my friendship with Tara began to change, though.
We were talking one day after an American History review and decided that it would be a good idea for us to be college roommates. I think Tara would agree with me that this was pretty random. Nonetheless, things started changing at that point. Within a few months we started spending more time together, I got to know all of her family (which is quite the task with her coming from a family of 7), and we pretty much did everything our Senior year together.

True to our initial decision, we moved away to school together and were roommates during our first year and the first semester of our second year. (At which point I moved to an apartment where I could have my own bedroom and she moved in with her sister.) Over the past few years Tara has become the sister I never had. I tell her everything, I love sharing clothes with her (we wear exactly the same size pants and shirts), and she was my maid of honor. I am so grateful for the chance that she has allowed me to become a part of her life.
Tare Bare-thanks for all of the fun times and for teaching me how to overcome trials with grace and poise. You are the best (in a Nacho Libre accent of course). BFFLFE.
