Davis Date Night #1

Before we got married, Scott and I decided that we always wanted to have weekly date nights. Knowing that life gets more and more crazy with each passing day, a couple of weeks ago we came up with a 'plan' that would help us keep track of what we are doing, who is planning, and when our date nights are.
I was in charge of our first 'Davis Date Night'. We had decided previously that we wanted to keep what we were going to do a secret from the other partner and so as planned my lips were sealed. Scott had to work all day but luckily I had the day off. I had lots of ideas on things I wanted to do but finally decided on this one after finding it in the book that Ashley and Cinco gave us for our wedding (thanks guys!)...

Scott got home early from work and so we hung out for a little while and ate dinner before beginning our date. When I finally said, "Okay, lets go!" we both hopped in the car and I started driving. Scott kept asking me questions like, "How far away are we going?" and "What direction will we be traveling?" he had no idea where we were headed. We finally pulled into the K-mart parking lot and his response was, "We are going to K-Mart for our date?" (I think there was some sarcasm in this comment) when my response was, "Yep!" the sarcasm left. He was really confused at this point I'm sure. So in we went...
When we got inside I walked straight to the photo booth. You know, the ones where you take four black and white pictures? I told Scott that he would be taking a strip of just him, I would take a strip of just me, and then we would do a strip together. He went in first and did all of his faces without me seeing. Next it was my turn and I struck my poses. We finished it off by taking pictures together.
After the machine finished our pictures we traveled back home to start our activity. I pulled out all of my scrapbooking stuff and informed Scott that for this activity he needed to use some of his creativity. The plan was that he would make an 8X10 scrapbook page representing me (using my photo strip) and I would be making one of him (using his). After about an hour and a half of sitting, cutting, gluing, talking, and laughing this is what we came up with!

We 'presented' them to each other by describing why we did what we did. It was a lot of fun and after this activity I'm putting Scott in charge of all of our scrapbooking! :)
We finished off the night by watching a movie together and snuggling up on the couch. It turned out to be a really fun night!
Stay tuned for more fun date night updates...it is Scott's turn to plan next!
